Jermaine Jackson sings Smile in tribute to his brother at the MJ Memorial

Jermaine Jackson gave a heartfelt performance to his brother of one of Michael Jackson’s favourite songs Smile at the Michael Jackson Memorial service.

Smile – lyrics

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, youll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Usher gets all emotional in his performance of Gone to Soon at the MJ Memorial

Usher performed the Michael Jackson song Gone to Soon at the Michael Jackson Memorial Service. Michael Jackson was one of Usher’s idols. Towards the end he struggled to hold it together.

“Gone Too Soon” Lyrics

Like A Comet
Blazing ‘Cross The Evening Sky
Gone Too Soon

Like A Rainbow
Fading In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Gone Too Soon

Shiny And Sparkly
And Splendidly Bright
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like The Loss Of Sunlight
On A Cloudy Afternoon
Gone Too Soon

Like A Castle
Built Upon A Sandy Beach
Gone Too Soon

Like A Perfect Flower
That Is Just Beyond Your Reach
Gone Too Soon

Born To Amuse, To Inspire, To Delight
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon

Gone Too Soon

Diana Ross misses Michael Jackson Memorial service but pledges support

“I am trying to find closure, I want you to know that even though I am not there at the Staples Center. I am there in my heart.

I have decided to pause and be silent. This feels right for me. Michael was a personal love of mine, a treasured part of my world, part of the fabric of my life in a way that I can’t seem to find words to express.

Michael wanted me to be there for his children, and I will be there if they ever they need me. I hope, today brings closure for all those who loved him. Thank you Katherine and Joe for sharing your son with the world and with me. I send my love and condolences to the Jackson family.”

Queen Latifah says no one compares to Michael Jackson

“He was the greatest entertainer of all time, bottom line – there’s no one who can compare to him, there’s no one who’s had over 40 years of music in them from a child on up to being a 50-year-old and about to go on a world tour”

Carole Bayer Sager tribute to Michael Jackson

“He was one of, if not THE greatest entertainer of all time, and was without question the ‘King of Pop.’ He was also my friend. He recorded a song of mine on his 1979 Off The Wall album and in 1981 we sang a duet together. We spent a considerable amount of time together in 2001 at my home music studio and I saw him in a totally different light – as a nurturing and caring father. I was so honored that he dedicated that album to me. My heart and prayers are with his family, his three children, my friend Elizabeth Taylor, and all us who are mourning the premature loss of his very precious life.”
